No. We are lobbying for legislative change and the government will not allow us to issue tax receipts.

Farewell Foundation seeks to provide assistance to members to end their lives safely, effectively, and with assistance if necessary. The Foundation will work to ensure that members may end their lives in a manner that is consistent with their values. Farewell Foundation is a non-profit organization. It does not accept money in consideration for assistance that it may provide.

We will not provide assistance to members until we have changed the law. It is an offense to counsel, aid, or abet a suicide in Canada. We are asking the BC Registry to set aside section 241 of the Criminal Code. We believe that there are compelling arguments to permit mentally competent Canadians the right to choose to end their unbearable suffering, with assistance.

Farewell Foundation intends to work with law enforcement, coroners, and medical examiners. Our objective is full accountability and transparency.
